Hi guys. This weekend I made… absolutely nothing. Ha! To be honest I didn’t do my normal crafting activities. I mostly took it easy. But I did go through a ton of photos and discovered that I never posted the oversized ruler I made.
So you’re probably wondering why would somebody make an oversize ruler. The truth is I got this idea from Pottery Barn but there was no way in hell that I was going to spend a $150 on a big ruler. But it just so happened that I had a couple of floor planks left over from doing our bedroom floor. So all in all this project didn’t cost me a thing. Yay Me!
What I used:
-floor plank
-marker
-speed square
-tape measurer
-stencil
-short screws
-picture wire
What I did:
1. First you will want to decide where to place your measurements. I lucked up with a board that was 120 cm so I used that as my guide. Using a permanent marker, on the multiples of 10s I made my lines 2 inches in length and added numbers. On the multiples of 5s I made the lines 1 inch.
2. Let it dry.
3. Hang it up using the screws and picture wire.
I gave my ruler a home over the TV in the family room. I’m trying to lessen the big black eyesore. I really wanted to add a gallery of frames around the set but Chris said that is too distracting. Sometimes living with a boy totally sucks. However, we made a compromise and I can put 3 things around the TV. Well one down and two to go.

Nice job! I really wanted their oversized Scrabble board but it was insanely overpriced. Off subject, I’m loving your green nails! Julep?
I didn’t see the Scrabble board. Consider DIYing it. It will save you some money. Oh and its a Julep color. I think its from October or November.
