A couple weeks ago I shared this jewelry box makeover on Sincerely Sara. In case you missed it… here goes.

And now the before picture…

Talk about a drastic change. And the great thing about this project is that it is super easy. All you need is an ugly jewelry box, spray paint, painter’s tape, sandpaper, fabric scraps, and Mod Podge. You will start by giving your box a light sanding and then wipe it clean. Cover any areas with painter’s tape that need protecting. Next, add a couple coats of spray paint (I used 3 coats). Be sure to let it dry in between coats. And technically you’re done at this point. However, I wanted to glam mines up a little so I add fabric to the side panels of the drawers with Mod Podge. Easy right?
I really love this idea, the fabric just adds that extra special touch. I have a similar jewelry box that could use this makeover. Pinning for future use.
Thanks Melissa. And have fun making over your jewelry box.

I like the idea of putting the fabric on the sides so it’s only visible when you pull out the drawer. Like a special surprise. I’ve not seen that done before.
Thanks Claire. I’m thinking about doing the dresser like that too. I think it is so cute even if its not seen very often.

I have a little jewelry box that looks almost just like this (the “before”), and have been wanting to redo it – as it is really beat up looking. Yours came out so cute, I’m psyched to try it!!
