Hello, my crafty friend! I’m currently riding a natural high of excited and it’s all because of the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo. 2 1/2 days of crafting, swapping cards, classes, and shopping. OMG, the shopping! Mind (and bank account) blown. This is the second year my mom and I have attended the expo. We live about an hour from where the expo was hosted so I drove up to save on hotel fare.
As always, I’ve recorded a video so be sure to check it out.
The classes
This time we took three classes; two together (Fabulous Finds and Summer Days in a Sn@p) and one separate (card swap for me and beginner calligraphy for my mom). The Fabulous Finds class was hosted by Krazy Kreations and Scrap That NJ and showcased new paper craft products. Think Oprah’s favorite things for crafters because we left with over a $100 worth of supplies. We also had an opportunity to try out some of the new products with a polaroid make and take.
The Summer Days in a Sn@p class showed us how to create a mini album using a Sn@p album and products from the simple stories Summer Days line. This class was a little fast pace but I knew we wouldn’t finish the entire album in an hour. However, I did learn some pretty cool techniques.
The last class I took was actually a card swap. I really enjoyed this one because I had a chance to mix and mingle with other card markers. Plus everyone left with 20 handmade cards.
Scrapbook Expo Swag Bag
Let me just say this… we were spoiled. The expo was very generous with the freebies. For going to class we received a tote bag and a 12×12 inch paper pad from American Crafts. Plus, you get freebies and coupons when you go to classes. Check out the video to see all the swag I walked away with. They also have this thing where you collect buttons for different tasks. I earned the “I returned” button for coming back this year, the “I learned” button for going to classes, and the “I swapped” button for going to the card swap. They also have raffles throughout the day but we didn’t win anything (sad face).
Purchased Goodies
So I couldn’t go to the expo without buying some goodies. This time I stocked on some Nuvo drops, scrapbook papers, and some stamps. Everything was discounted so it was win-win in my book.
Overall, I really enjoyed the expo. It was well organized and all the people were so friendly. I can’t wait to go back next year.
