I believe you home should excite, inspire, and be your personal haven. However just like we can feel bore and struck in live, our homes can the same way. Last week I shared my plans for restyling my dining room. Restyle is the official word I’m using because a lot of my old stuff is staying but getting a fresh new look. Like my bar cabinet for example. I made this cabinet with my dad so it has sentimental value but it is in desperate need of a face lift. I decided to paint it navy blue and add some copper accents.
The Details of this Bar Cabinet Makeover
I painted the cabinet with Sherwin William Navel using a foam roller because I hate brush strokes on furniture. The foam roller gives the cabinet a smooth finish. I spray painted the backing of the cabinet using Kryon Metallic Copper. Then, I added a copper sprayed door pull on the drawer of the cabinet.
The top of the cabinet was the perfect place to add the Cozamia print. I placed it in a rustic wooden frame from Hobby Lobby. I added a cyclanthus plant in a bright green planter to bring in more color and contrast. For more color I added some Allison Fennell prints I purchased from craft show. And of course no bar would be complete without liqueur and bar ware. The cocktail shaker is from Target.

Find a room or small nook in your home that has lost it muchness (guess who just watch Alice in Wonderland) and give it a refresh. Sometimes all it takes is a splash of paint or some fresh flowers. You will be surprised by the impact it can have on your life.
