Marriage. Career. Family. Dog. Home. Money. School. Health. Blog. Friends. Hobbies. Money. Time. Fitness. Love. Legacy. Retirement. Community. Emails. Money.
These are some of the many thoughts that cross my mind on a regular. And if you’re anything like me then you have experienced that feeling when everything seems to go crazy. Well maybe crazy is too strong of a word. Maybe what I should call it is unbalanced. Simply put, for the last decade of my life I have been trying to keep everything in balance.
Identify & Acknowledge
What I’ve learned about this balancing thing is that it is never consistent. Each month, week, or day brings about a new set of accomplishments and challenges. But hey, that’s life right. Sh*t changes. However, I always find myself using the same plan when trying to keep the balance in my life. First thing I do is identify what is working for me, what is causing stress, and acknowledge what I need/want. For me the last portion of that sentence is always the hardest because it is easy to get caught up in what truly is a need versus something that I want.
Analyze, Prioritize, & Plan
I can’t even lie, I am guilty of wasting time. Especially online… I love pinterest & Instagram and if I could I would do it for a living. But I know that every minute I spend on social media sites is a minute that I could have been doing something more important…like writing my dissertation so I can graduate. Honestly it all comes down to prioritizing the to-do list. Because let’s keep it real, there will always be something to go undone. Or at least, that’s how it is at my house. My motto is do what you can and don’t beat yourself up about the things that are out of your control. I just try not to let this turn into a reason to be lazy.
Trust & Act
I think the worst feeling in the world is not being able to trust in yourself. Who knows you better than you? I mean really, self-doubt is a nasty b****. Trusting in myself has not been an easy journey. And yes, there are times when I wish I could pass on being a responsible adult. But when I really think about it, I don’t want someone else making decisions for me. It is like the quote says, “as soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live.”

found you via BLM on facebook; I like style bloggers and stalk incessantly 🙂
I like how you write your thoughts and they are interspersed with fashion pics. If the focus is on fashion perhaps you can have links for the items you are wearing. Otherwise it’s your blog and your voice and I think its lovely.

Great blog post!! It’s definitely a challenge finding a balance between everything; writing blog posts, working, finding time to hang out with family and friends, etc. I always plan out what blog posts I’m going to work on and carve out a time to do it. It makes it a lot easier!
