This fast paced world seems to move faster and faster as each day goes by. At least, that is what it feels like to me. Sometimes I get so caught up in making plans for the future that the present slips by. This weekend was one of those times for me. The Mr. & I had our 6th anniversary and at first we had made big plans to celebrate on Sunday but as the time got closer it didn’t feel necessary. We ended up getting take-out from a Japanese steakhouse and watching a movie while snuggling on the sofa. I know it sounds lame but it was amazing.
For me, it is so easy to get caught up in trying to make every memory this extravagant things, that taking time to enjoy the little things gets forgotten and taken for granted. In my mind, I dream of living in a wildly colorful emerald city when everything I really need is on a small farm. So I wrote this post in celebration of the small things. The good morning & good night kisses, the how’s your day texts, the nightly dinners on mixed-matched plates. This is for those pictures and memories that aren’t deemed “like,” “pin,” or “blog” worthy. This post is for the bed head, make-up free days, spent eating macaroons in bed with your PJs on at 3 o’clock in the afternoon.

I 100% agree with you! Sometimes you need to step back from the Internet and documenting everything and just enjoy life! An evening with the person you love, eating good food, and snuggling sounds wonderful!!

Hope you had a great anniversary! You are so right and I will admit I get caught up in life and forget to enjoy my journey until I read something like this post that reminds me to stop and reprioritize. Thank you for reminding me.
